Owners reported this on the Pro Max soon after launch, and restarting the phone helped only for a while. Update to the latest iOS first, since much of it traced back to software. If it still crashes, or one lens is black, we’ll test each camera and tell you whether it’s hardware.
Optimized Battery Charging holds the phone at 80% for a while, especially overnight, and then finishes the charge before you usually unplug. That’s normal. If it stops at 80% at odd times with the feature turned off, or the percentage jumps around, the battery may be wearing out and we can test it.
A bigger display has more room for a dead zone. Dead spots and ghost touches after a fall usually mean the display or its connection took the hit. If it started without a drop, update iOS and check for a loose or case-pressing edge first. We’ll test the touch layer before recommending a repair.
Speed depends on the adapter. A low-power brick will charge it slowly no matter what. If it’s still slow with a good adapter and cable, or it only charges at an angle, the USB-C port may be clogged with lint or worn out. We’ll clean it first, then test the charging circuit if needed.
Yes, and sooner than later. A cracked lens cover can cause glare, flare spots and soft focus, and it lets dust in behind the glass. Bring it in and we’ll check what’s damaged. Sometimes it’s just the cover, and sometimes the camera module behind it.
Hold the buttons to force a restart first, and keep it plugged in. If it’s stuck in a loop, don’t wipe it. Bring it in and we can look at whether it’s software or something on the board, and we’ll try to protect your data before anything is erased.
The proximity sensor near the top of the screen turns the display off when you hold the phone to your ear. A thick screen protector that covers the sensor, or smudges, are common causes. If the problem stays after cleaning and removing the protector, the sensor or the screen assembly may need repair.
